The Trenton Golden Hawks spent Sunday at Nine Golf Course on Old Highway 2 in Belleville for some team bonding before heading to Niagara Falls for the 2026 OJHL Governors Showcase.
The Showcase will feature 24 games, with every OJHL club playing twice. All games count toward the regular-season standings and provide players with an opportunity to compete in front of scouts and talent evaluators from the NHL, NCAA, CHL, OHL, U SPORTS and professional hockey teams.
The Golden Hawks will play a pair of afternoon games at the Gale Centre, facing the Collingwood Blues on Monday before taking on the Oakville Blades Tuesday.
Last week, the Trenton Golden Hawks won their lone game on the schedule an 8-2 victory over the Toronto Warriors at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Gardens.
Leading scorer Kale Mace recorded the first hat trick of his OJHL career Friday night, while rookie defenceman Christian Sedgewick became the latest Golden Hawk to record his first career OJHL points, picking up a pair of assists in the win.
Trenton has scored the second-most goals in the Eastern Conference this season and owns a 38.2% power play. The offensive success has helped the Golden Hawks climb the standings, as they have now won four of their last five games.
Alternate captain Beckett Ewart has four goals and seven assists in his last five games, while Ryan Chamberlain has points in six straight. Nolan Nicoll has won his last two starts, including a shutout. The Golden Hawks will rely on both him and Hayden Jeffery this week.
After the Governors Showcase, the Golden Hawks return home to host the Buffalo Jr. Sabres next Friday before heading to North York on Sunday afternoon.
Make sure to come out and support your Golden Hawks. Single-game and season tickets are available online or in person at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Gardens box office during posted business hours.
