Trenton Head Coach Derek Smith is continuing to acquire pieces for the 2023-24 season.
Smith has signed Kayson Un Yi and Matthew Lee as free agents.
“We are very happy to welcome Un Yi,” says Smith. “He is coming to us from Culver Military Academy in Indiana.”
“Un Yi is a buzz saw. He is fast, energetic, has loads of skill, and provides great play making ability.”
For Culver Military Academy Prep in 2022-23, Un Yi had 28 points.
Un Yi is 5’9/154 and hails from Laval and was selected for the USHL Combine in 2022.

Matthew Lee played the 2022-23 season with the West Kelowna Warriors of the B.C.H.L. The St Catharine’s native played his AAA with the Southern Tier Admirals and is a 2021 draft pick of the Niagara Ice Dogs. He is 5’9/168
Smith says, “Lee has good offensive instincts and plays the game at a high level. He has high hockey I.Q. and is also a gritty player. The other benefit, he is not even 18 yet, meaning we have lots of time with him here in Trenton.”
“Both signings make us a better team today, then we were just a few days ago.”
