The Trenton Golden Hawks have hit a mid-season injury bug and head Coach Derek Smith says help is on the way.
The GHawks have announced they have acquired 19-year-old Luke Hampel from the Aurora Tigers. Going the other way is a Player Development Fee.
Head Coach Derek Smith says Hampel brings a lot of elements in his game.
“He’s a big right shot defecemen, he plays the game hard, he’s got a great shot, he can add an offensive touch to our backend. At this point in the year we’ve went through a couple of injuries in the last couple of weeks and anytime we can add a player like Luke to our lineup it’s going to instantly make us better.”
Leaving the Tigers, Hampel was second in rear guard points with 15 and had amassed 8 goals, good enough for 3rd on the team.
Hampel is expected in the lineup this coming Friday night, when Trenton welcomes the North York Rangers at 7:30 p.m.
