The Trenton Golden Hawks are putting all their chips into the middle of the table for the 23-24 season.

Interim General Manager Todd Reid has announced a huge trade with the Wellington Dukes.

Going to Prince Edward County are Forward Joe Weber, Goaltender Ethan Fraser, and a Player Development Fee.

Coming to Quinte West are Forwards Ryan Cutler, Corbin Roach, Lucas Lapalm, Barrett Joynt.

GM Reid says, “We want to thank Joe and Ethan for their contributions to our program.  Not only did they work hard and offer a professional attitude, but they are fine young men.  We wish them nothing but the best in their future.”

Stirling’s Lucas Lapalm comes into his final year in junior hockey with loads of experience.  The former Pickering Panther has an OJHL title and a Centennial Cup final appearance.  The right-handed forward averaged more than a point a game in the 22-23 season.  “Lucas brings an amazing level of leadership,” says Reid.  “He is valuable in both ends of the rink and has a high compete level.  Quite simply, he can put the puck in the net.”

“Corbin Roach has an engine that can drive a team,” stated the club’s GM, IceCasino.  “He is a relentless player and has the right attitude to help Trenton win.”  Roach, who hails from Belleville, is 19 and had a breakout season last year.  Not only did he notch 44 points during the regular season, but he also added another 6 in the post season.

Joynt, a native of Sydenham, was a point a game forward during the 22-23 year, following his return from the BCHL.  Reid says, “Barret plays his best hockey when it matters the most.  He has a scoring touch, but he has composure on both sides of the puck.”

Keswick, Ontario’s Ryan Cutler has spent time with not only the Dukes, but the Stouffville Spirit, a handful of games with the Newmarket Hurricanes, and two clubs in the NAHL in the United States.  Reid says, “Cutler is the kind of player that makes his teammates better.  He offers the Golden Hawks composure, experience, and battles hard on both sides of the puck.”

“The Trenton Golden Hawks will be focusing on success, but local success. Lucas and Corbin hail from the Quinte region, while Barret is from just north of Kingston and Ryan the GTA.”  Reid continued, “We have added more local talent, but we are also a better team with this trade.”
