Trenton Acquires One D-Man and Moves Another

Interim General Manager Todd Reid is making some major moves heading into the 23-24 season.

D-Man Eric Bonsteel is off to Oakville.  Bonsteel, who was acquired from the Toronto Patriots, notched 31 points in his time in Trenton.

Todd Reid says, “It is always the hardest part of the job, to move not only solid hockey players, but fine young men.  We thank Eric for what he brought to Trenton on and off the ice.  In hockey management it is critical to respect the athletes wishes and help them in their development.”

“We are thrilled to announce the trade for Kyloe Ellis.  The 18-year-old right-shot D-man is coming to us from the Greater Sudbury Cubs of the NOJHL.”  Reid continued, “Ellis is a great two-way rear guard, with a ton of upside.  There was a lot of interest in Ellis.  He is a great young man and that is only going to help with a positive hockey culture.”

Ellis had 43 points in the regular season last year, and another 6 in the playoffs.  He finished sixth in points for rear guards in the NOJHL.

He was traded for a Player Development Fee.
