As the Trenton Golden Hawks push to make a return trip to the OJHL Championship Series, Director of Operations Todd Reid has announced a major trade with the Pickering Panthers.
“We are thrilled to announce that we have acquired Ben Pickell and Jamie Darlison from the Panthers.”
Going to Pickering are Defenceman Noah Smith, along with Forward Charlie Key, and a Player Development Fee.
Reid continued, “We thank Noah and Charlie for their commitment to the Golden Hawks and the City of Quinte West. We wish them nothing but the best in their pursuits on and off the ice.”
Reid continued, “Pickell brings a ton of experience in the Ontario Hockey League, along with an OJHL Championship. He played with Lucas Lapalm in the Centennial Cup, he knows Cooper Matthews from the Barrie Colts, and spent time with Taeo Artichuk at the World Junior A Challenge, where he won the silver medal. He is a highly skilled forward that already has a 1.6 point per game average so far this season. He is responsible in both ends of the ice and brings a lot to the table.”
“Darlison is a draft pick of the OHL Bulldogs. He is also a high skill forward, big up front and has a high hockey I.Q,” continued Reid. “Darlison was second on Pickering in points and we hope he continues his success in Quinte West.
