QUINTE WEST, ON – Sunday January 7, 2024: One of the Quinte region’s hottest restaurants is stepping up to support children in the Quinte region.
Sutha’s Pizza Bar & Grill Owner Sutha Thurairajah says, “We are announcing a partnership with the Trenton Golden Hawks to support the YMCA of Central East Ontario Strong Kids Campaign. 150 tickets for the GHawks game on Friday January 19th will be going to local kids in “Y” programs, their families, volunteers, and staff.”
“This is a great partnership between a new community partner and the hockey club,” says Trenton Golden Hawks President Shawn Hicks. “Not only are 150 tickets part of the community outreach, the evening will include a cheque presentation for $1,500 to the campaign. We are most excited to be hosting this evening.”
Realtor Patricia Guernsey and Restauranteur Ken Schmidt are this year’s Strong Kids Campaign Chairs. “The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign is an annual fundraising campaign, focused on raising much needed funds to support children, youth and families in our community,” says Guernsey. “The funds raised provide an opportunity to participate in programming, membership and day camp opportunities, regardless of their financial situation.”
Schmidt added, “We believe that every child deserves a chance to reach their full potential: to live healthier, happier lives today and grow into productive adults in the future.”
YMCA of CEO will be at the game, along with dozens of staff, their families, and customers of Sutha’s Pizza Bar and Grill (79 E Davis St, Trenton). There will be a ceremonial puck drop, giveaways and prizes as well, along with an opportunity to donate for fans.
