The 2 hottest teams in the OJHL are ready to do battle, as your Trenton Golden Hawks who are currently on a 9 game winning streak, take on the Haliburton County Huskies, who are also on a roll of their own, with a record of 8-1-1 in their past 10 games, in which is sure to be an on ice battle.
The Hawks are coming off of a 4-3 win over the Markham Royals, which saw captain Thomas Kuipers with a 3 point night. The Huskies are coming off of a big 4-1 victory over the St. Mike’s Buzzers, and are bound a determined to catch the Hawks in the Eastern Conference standings, in which they trail the Hawks by 8 points. As for the Hawks, they are looking to take over top spot in the conference as they trail the Stouffville Spirit by just 1 point, with a game in hand.
Your Hawks have been lead offensively by forwards Teao Artichuk and Jack Zillioto, who are 1 and 2 in league scoring respectively. The Hawks lead the OJHL in goals scored, and are rated as the #1 offensive team respectively.
The Huskies are a very well rounded team, and are lead by goaltender Owen Edwards, who currently has a GAA of 1.99 in 298 games played, and by the team defensively as a whole, who have the 2nd best rated defence in the league, in regards to goals against as a total team. (Trailing only the Stouffville Spirit)
