The new Coach and General Manager of the Trenton Golden Hawks has made two moves.
Derek Smith says, “Robbie Rutledge has been sent to the Summerside Western Capitals in the Maritime Junior Hockey League, while Jeriah Shantz was acquired by the Oakville Blades in the OJ.”
“Rutledge and Shantz were key parts of the tremendous run the GHawks had in the 23-24 season. We thank them for their stellar play on the ice and community involvement.”
“One of the most important things as a coach is to respect and consider what is best for the players and their wishes. Rutledge was looking for a return to the east coast, while Shantz had several options presented to him and decided upon Oakville. Going to the Blades is a smart move as they happen to be hosting the upcoming Centennial Cup, which will be an incredible opportunity.”
In return, the Trenton Golden Hawks receive a pair of Player Development Fees.
