From Thunderbird to Golden Hawk for Joseph

QUINTE WEST, ON – Wednesday June 28, 2023: The Trenton Golden Hawks continue to build a team that is going to be strong and very, very big.

Head Coach/G.M. Derek Smith has announced the acquisition of Ranon Joseph from the Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.  In exchange, the GHawks send a Player Development Fee.

“Joseph is a big body presence.”  Smith says, “Not only is he going to take up a lot of space out on the ice, but he is also going to bring strong skating and lots of maturity.  Being in his final year means he is also looking to make an impact.”

“Size is far from the only determining factor when looking at players, however, if you have two equal players and one is five inches taller, you will always go with the bigger player.  Ranon will be a great addition to the GHawks.”

Joseph hails from Sherwood Park, Alberta, which is part of Edmonton.  The left shot d-man comes in at 6’5/210 and plays with an edge.  His hockey career has included time in New Hampshire, Sweden, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, northern Ontario and now Quinte West.
