ICE STORM POSTPONES SUNDAY’S RESCHEDULED OJHL PLAYOFF GAMES
Sunday’s Ontario Junior Hockey League playoff game in Minden and Trenton been postponed.
The S.G. Nesbitt Memorial Arena in Minden remains closed today, municipal officials informed the hometown Haliburton County Huskies Sunday morning.
A new date for the game has yet to be announced.
“In response to a major freezing rain event in the area, The Township of Minden Hills, The Township of Algonquin Highlands, The Municipality of Highlands East, The Municipality of Dysart et al, and the The County of Haliburton all declared a Significant Weather Event” for this weekend on Friday afternoon.
The game, which was originally to be played Saturday in Minden, had been postponed until Sunday afternoon.
The Toronto Jr. Canadiens lead the Huskies two games to one in the best-of-seven.
The Stouffville Spirit at Trenton game scheduled for tonight has also been postponed, the OJHL announced late this morning.
